St. Augustine looses a great musical friend…

For the past 16 years, Marty Scott, has enriched the airwaves and our lives with his incredible knowledge of the Blues art form. He passed away this past Saturday and will leave a void impossible to fill.

In addition to being a fine player, his support of the local music scene and encouragement of up and coming players was an inspiration.

Marty, Thanks for the music…you are already missed! (pictured below) Marty Scott recording at Eclipse during a Willie Green Session (photo courtesy of Rick Ambrose).

Chris Kastle records three projects at Eclipse.

Prolific Songwriter, Chris Kastle, is making three CD’s simultaneously. They each have a different theme. The first has a “Maritime” theme, the second has a “Singer-Songwriter” flavor and the third is of “Children’s Songs”. She has gathered a remarkable collection of musicians (seen below) to bring these to life.

This week at Eclipse Recording Company

Southeast Aero Video Shoot

Personal Pitch Video Service offered by Eclipse Recording Company.

Southeast Aero is a distributor of the high-performance aerobatic planes, which are manufactured in Germany and shipped to St. Augustine. The local company has assembled about 300 of these planes for pilots all over the country. The Northeast Florida Regional Airport hired the Eclipse video team to make a short film about what they do.

We would like to Congratulate, Eclipse Recording Artist and Friend, Rick Levy. (below with Dan Bagan at Eclipse) ”After 40 years, an amazing live recording of Philadelphia’s hottest band of the late ’60s, WAX was discovered and recently released on CD by Lightyear Entertainment (distributed by EMI) titled “Melted” (says Rockmymonkey.com).

Rick Levy with Dan Bagan at Eclipse Recording Company

This album “Wax Melted” (below) has made it to David Fricke’s top picks in “Rolling Stone”

Wax Melted, Rick Levy, Eclipse Recording Company

David says of the album, “This one is personal. Wax were from my hometown, Philadelphia, and they were everywhere between 1969 and 1971 – in the clubs, opening shows for John Mayall, the Byrds and Chicago – while I was away at college. They never made an album, so I would only know them by reputation and the members’ later success: Singer-keyboardist Rob Hyman co-founded the Hooters; drummer Rick Chertoff produced them; and singer David Kagan was the full bright voice, with Hyman, in the fine Philly group Baby Grand, which I did see. Melted is a set of songs Wax taped live in the studio, near the end of their tether, and it is vintage early Seventies ambition: progressive songwriting with snappy instrumental digressions, just enough pop gloss and that inevitable Philly-R&B tang. Now I know what I missed – and I wish I’d been there.”
