High Tide Gallery Benefit for 12-year-old Alexander

St. Augustine Friends,
HELP!
I personally can’t imagine how overwhelming it would be if I had a child who needed a liver transplant & as a single mom I didn’t have thousands of dollars for the anti-rejection medicines, much less having to lose time from work for possibly months while my child was in another city’s hospital.
High Tide’s jewelry artist Michelle Smith of St. Augustine and her son Alexander, 12, are in this very boat. When I learned of their dilemma this week, I thought, “How in the world can they do this alone? They can’t. But they can with our community’s help!” Alex is such a great boy and, medically, he been through more than most of us could handle. Michelle has to be so strong, running her Kindermusik business and driving to ShandsHospital in Gainesville multiple times each week. They had so much on their plate already – before this news that Alex needs a transplant now.
So, I’m quickly putting together a benefit for Alex here at High Tide Gallery that will take place in early to mid-December (date to be announced). It’s called “ALL (of us) FOR ALEX”.
If you’re receiving this email it’s because:
• you are an artist
• your children have taken Michelle’s Kindermusik classes
• I’ve donated to your group’s fundraisers or advertised with you
• you are a friend of Michelle’s and / or mine
• you’re a local Merchant (we’ll promote you every way we can)
• you’re just awesome
• we REALLY need your help, on any level!
For the actual Benefit event, we would be so grateful for pledges / donations of the following:
- Donated artwork and artist-made jewelry to sell that day or night (100% of proceeds to the Alex Fund)
- Donated restaurant hors d’oeuvres and / or bake sale goods (100% of tip jar proceeds to the Alex Fund)
- Silent Auction gift certificates for services or items (at any level) for bids that day or night (100% of proceeds to the Alex Fund)
Anything we can auction off is so helpful – a restaurant gift card, an AD in a publication, a month membership at a gym or any kind of membership, items from local boutiques…
- Three volunteers to help set up and clean up (once we set a date we’ll ask for this help)
We can give your business publicity in all of our press releases and advertising in exchange for helping!
Please contact me – Aimee – at High Tide Gallery (hightidegallery@gmail or 904-829-6831) with ideas of how you would love to help!
Thank you so much!
