Call for ART & GOODS / SERVICES donations for 2nd Annual "All For Alex" Fundraiser
In less than one year, the local community has raised $59,000 of the $70,000 needed to help a boy named Alexander Fast
get a life-saving liver transplant. Much has happened since our first "All For Alex" Benefit Dec. 7, 2011 at
The Foundry on Anastasia Island. Through an art auction, raffle, car washes, community garage sales and marathons,
we are in the HOME STRETCH to help save Alex! Alex, 14, is the son of Michelle Smith,
a High Tide Gallery jewelry artist, Kindermusik teacher and single mom. He has an auto-immune disorder
and the medicines he takes for his disease have destroyed his liver (and his hearing as well).
The needed medical fund (under the Children's Organ Transplant Association, or C.O.T.A.) covers the expenses NOT covered by Medicare/Medicaid. These incl. immediate transportation to the hospital doing the surgery once a liver becomes available (Pittsburgh Children's Hospital just agreed to do it, after a year of Michelle asking many, many hospitals) and all of the extremely expensive anti-rejection medications required for his body to accept the liver.
Aimée Wiles Banion of High Tide Gallery is intaking the donated artwork, jewelry, goods and services gift certificates for the upcoming BENEFIT AUCTION on Saturday, Nov. 10th. Please email her asap if you would be willing to generously donate something or a gift certificate for a service (ie: a 1-hour beach photo shoot, % off tax preparation, a new book series, computer repair, free ad, florist bouquet, or salon service, etc.)
•EMAIL: HighTideGallery@gmail.com
By Oct. 15 to be included in electronic media promotions leading up to the event.
•ITEM & RETAIL VALUE:
(We can provide you with a tax-deductible donation form from C.O.T.A.)
